Alex Volpenhein
Alex Volpenhein brings elite playing experience and a lifelong understanding of the game to every lesson. A former member of the University of Kentucky Men’s Golf Team from 2006–2010, Alex competed at the highest levels of junior and collegiate golf throughout his career.
As a junior player, Alex was consistently ranked among the top 5 golfers nationally in his class and captured the 2005 Junior PGA Championship. In 2006, he represented Team USA at the Junior World Cup Championship in Japan, competing against many of the top junior golfers in the world.
Following college, a series of injuries and surgeries ultimately derailed his competitive playing career. While challenging, those experiences gave Alex a deeper understanding of the physical and mental side of the game — perspectives he now brings into his teaching.
With more than 30 years immersed in golf, Alex combines elite playing experience with a practical, player-focused coaching style designed to help golfers improve both technically and strategically.
His instruction focuses on:
- Elite short game development
- Course management and scoring strategy
- Swing fundamentals and consistency
- Practice structure and skill development
- Competitive mindset and confidence on the course
Having competed at a high level, Alex understands that every golfer is different. His goal is to simplify the game, build confidence, and help players better understand how to take their skills from the range to the golf course.
Whether working with beginners, competitive juniors, or experienced players looking to lower scores, Alex emphasizes long-term improvement and helping players enjoy the game at a higher level.
